{"id":27,"date":"2017-11-04T23:20:00","date_gmt":"2017-11-04T23:20:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/localhost\/wordpress_bw2\/adam-declares-that-eve-was-created-after-another\/"},"modified":"2017-12-12T04:39:34","modified_gmt":"2017-12-12T04:39:34","slug":"adam-declares-that-eve-was-created-after-another","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.bitterwaters.com\/bw_12_21_2018\/the-case-for-lilith\/the-biblical-case-for-lilith\/adam-declares-that-eve-was-created-after-another\/","title":{"rendered":"3.8) Adam Became Alone"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>One of the more profound evidences for the existence of Lilith comes in Ge 2:18.\u00a0 In the literal Hebrew of the verse, God declares that it was not good that Adam \u201chad become alone.\u201d\u00a0 This means that before Eve\u2019s creation there existed a period of time where Adam was not alone and had a companion.\u00a0 Furthermore, some event must have transpired to make him become alone.\u00a0 Only Lilith\u2019s legend explains these facts.\u00a0 She was the man\u2019s initial companion, and he became alone after she rebelled.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>In the literal translation of Ge 2:18 in Table 3\u20117, the key word reveling that the man became alone is <em>hayowt<\/em> (<span style=\"font-family: olbhebregular;\">twyh<\/span>).\u00a0 <em>Hayowt<\/em> is the 3<sup>rd<\/sup> person perfect tense of the verb <em>hayah<\/em> (<span style=\"font-family: olbhebregular;\">hyh<\/span> &#8211; Strongs 1961), which means \u201cto become.\u201d\u00a0 Thus, <em>Hayowt<\/em> means \u201che had become.\u201d\u00a0 This indicates that the man had become alone at some point in the past.\u00a0 Thus, he was not always alone and must have had a companion before Eve.\u00a0 Lilith is the only viable explanation for this previous companion.\u00a0 The man had become lonely after she rebelled and fled the garden.\u00a0 For this reason, God laments that the man had become alone and purposes to make a new companion for him.\u00a0<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<div style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">Ge 2:18 (My Literal)<\/div>\n<div style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">And said Jehovah God, it is not good the man had become alone.\u00a0 I shall make for him a help as shown before him.<\/div>\n<\/blockquote>\n<table width=\"100%\">\n<tbody>\n<tr>\n<td style=\"text-align: center; font-family: olbhebregular;\" width=\"10%\">\n<div>hwhy<\/div>\n<\/td>\n<td style=\"text-align: center; font-family: olbhebregular;\" width=\"12%\">\n<div>rmay:w<\/div>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td style=\"text-align: center;\" width=\"18%\">\n<div style=\"text-align: center;\">to his separation<\/div>\n<\/td>\n<td style=\"text-align: center;\" width=\"12%\">\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">the man<\/p>\n<\/td>\n<td style=\"text-align: center;\" width=\"17%\">\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">he had become<\/p>\n<\/td>\n<td style=\"text-align: center;\" width=\"8%\">\n<p>good<\/p>\n<\/td>\n<td style=\"text-align: center;\" width=\"7%\">\n<p>not<\/p>\n<\/td>\n<td style=\"text-align: center;\" width=\"12%\">\n<p>God<\/p>\n<\/td>\n<td style=\"text-align: center;\" width=\"10%\">\n<p>Jehovah<\/p>\n<\/td>\n<td width=\"12%\">\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">and said<\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>Table 3\u20117: A Transliteration of Ge 2:18, Part 1 (<a href=\"http:\/\/localhost\/images\/table9.2.1.6.png\">View Pic<\/a>)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The notion that Adam became alone also solves two nagging theological issues.\u00a0 First, why would God create Adam alone, especially when God created companions for all the animals?\u00a0 In addition, why were the beasts of the field searched with any real hope of finding a suitable helpmate for the man?\u00a0 The answer to the first is that the man was not created alone.\u00a0 He was created with a companion Lilith, who rebelled and fled.\u00a0 Moreover, the beasts of the field were searched for a companion, because the man\u2019s fled companion, the Serpent Lilith, was considered one of these beasts of the field.\u00a0 Recall the Serpent was called a \u201cbeast of the field\u201d in Ge 3:1.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Lilith\u2019s legend also helps explain the timing of Eve\u2019s creation.\u00a0 Eve was created immediately following the man\u2019s failed search among the beasts of the field.\u00a0 We have already seen that the Serpent Lilith must have been summoned at this time, and that Adam must have given her a name.\u00a0 Adam\u2019s naming of the creatures demonstrated his mastery and lordship over them.\u00a0 Thus, Adam\u2019s naming of Lilith would denote an act of mastery over her.\u00a0 We could certainly expect Lilith\u2019s utter rebellion at this point, for she would not submit to the man by her demonic nature.\u00a0 In her utter rebellion, she became physically transformed into a winged creature.\u00a0 Indeed, after this point the Bible refers to Lilith as the winged Serpent fleeing before God.\u00a0 At this point reconciliation with Adam is impossible, and thus Eve is made in the immediately following verses.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Why did God wait until this moment of utter rebellion by Lilith to replace her with Eve?\u00a0 Like Lucifer, Lilith had the right to choose her destiny.\u00a0 Even though she was defiled by the mist, God blessed her and told her to multiply with the man and fill the earth (Ge 1:28).\u00a0 The man was given ascendancy over the woman, but through Adam, she could inherit God\u2019s blessings.\u00a0 Even though God knew Lilith would ultimately rebel against Adam, God waited for her actual utter rebellion to take place before judging her for it.\u00a0 By his holy and just nature, God does not punish the sinner before the sin.\u00a0 After Lilith\u2019s irreversible rebellion, God took the step of creating her replacement, Eve.\u00a0 Note that this theory implies that before Lilith\u2019s utter rebellion at this point, she was in a defiant, yet not wholly rebellious state (at least from Adam\u2019s perspective).\u00a0 This is consistent with the Lilith legend, which states she repeatedly refused Adam before finally transforming herself at one fateful encounter by uttering the holy name of Jehovah.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>One of the more profound evidences for the existence of Lilith comes in Ge 2:18.\u00a0 In the literal Hebrew of the verse, God declares that it was not good that Adam \u201chad become alone.\u201d\u00a0 This means that before Eve\u2019s creation there existed a period of time where Adam was not alone and had a companion.\u00a0 &hellip;
