{"id":174,"date":"2017-11-11T22:18:56","date_gmt":"2017-11-11T22:18:56","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/localhost\/wordpress_bw2\/3-14-a-nachash-serpent-implies-a-demonically-inhabited-human\/"},"modified":"2017-12-11T00:40:23","modified_gmt":"2017-12-11T00:40:23","slug":"3-14-a-nachash-serpent-implies-a-demonically-inhabited-human","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.bitterwaters.com\/bw_12_21_2018\/the-case-for-lilith\/the-biblical-case-for-lilith\/3-14-a-nachash-serpent-implies-a-demonically-inhabited-human\/","title":{"rendered":"3.14) A Nachash Serpent Implies a Demonically Inhabited Human"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>There is a further intriguing clue that the Serpent was not only human, but that it was a demonically possessed woman.\u00a0 This hint stems from the definition and etymology of the Hebrew word translated as \u201cserpent.\u201d\u00a0 This word indicates that the Serpent may have shared the traits a demonically inhabited medium or soothsayer, who use indwelling familiar spirits to gain power and \/ or knowledge.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The word translated as Serpent is <em>nachash<\/em> (<span style=\"font-family: olbhebregular;\">vxn<\/span> &#8211; Strongs 5175).\u00a0 According to the Gesenius lexicon <em>nachash<\/em> comes from a root which means \u201cto whisper\u201d or \u201cto hiss.\u201d\u00a0 <span style=\"font-family: olbhebregular;\">vxn<\/span> can also mean \u201cto divine\u201d, or \u201cto enchant\u201d (Strongs 5172, 5173).\u00a0 Gesenius relates that this later meaning stemmed from the word describing the whispers of the soothsayers.
